Who am I, and why am I doing this project?
Hi, my name is Leila and my brand is also called Leïla.
I am an italian and iranian woman who is fortunate to be born and to live in a free country.
Like many iranians outside the borders of Iran, my conscience won't allow me to sleep knowing the attrocities that my iranian brothers and sisters are living every second by being randomly arrested for standing respectfully and peacefully for their intrinsic right to Freedom.
It's not only about Freedom, first of all it's about safety, physical and moral integrity and dignity.
Cyrius the Great, who is our legacy as Persians, was the first man to write a charter of human rights. That's one of the reason we can't and we won't close our eyes on what is happening in our country from 1979 and that continues more than ever until now.
The current government systematically tortures, rapes, and massacres tens of thousands of innocent men, women, and children, while Western countries, supposedly free, fail to respond appropriately and at the right measure to these atrocities.
I am convinced that each personal initiative put together can make a difference and will contribute one day to bring peace and freedom back in our country and to our people, who are literally being held hostage by one of the most barbaric regimes in the world.
I have been working on this project since 2023, and it is time for me, after almost 3 years, to unveil it. My aim is to relay the voices that were silenced by terror by wearing these clothes and being able to spread a message of freedom and solidarity.
I hope you will help me to spread the word and who knows that it may inspire some of you to create a project that is close to their heart despite the obstacles that will stand on the way.
